| | We are spending a couple of nights in the town of Flores, about an hour south of Tikal. Flores sits on a small island in Lago de Peten Izta, meaning that we get a chance to take more pictures of beautiful sunsets over water. Once again we had to change hotels after one night b/c the place was full on the second night. This actually worked in our favor, though, as we got a better room for the same price after the switch. Plus, our new hotel had a lot of design elements that were obviously meant to emulate the famous Barcelona architect, Gaudi, designer of the still unfinished Sagrada Familia Cathedral. |
